Buses 51, 75, 81, 85, 87 and 118 stop near the Colosseum. Lines 23, 34, 40, 62, 280 and 982 stop near Piazza Pia or Ponte Vittorio Emanuele II, a few minutes from Castel Sant'Angelo.

Tram line 3 stops at Piazza del Colosseo, a few minutes' walk from the Colosseum entrance.

Castel Sant'Angelo is about a ten minute walk from St. Peter's Square along Via della Conciliazione, and about fifteen minutes from Piazza Navona across Ponte Sant'Angelo. From the Colosseum, public transport or a taxi is the better option.
