Combo: Saint peter's Basilica + Castel Sant'Angelo Entry Tickets

From St. Peter's Square it is about a ten minute walk to Castel Sant'Angelo along Via della Conciliazione, which also gives the classic view of the Basilica dome as you walk between the two. From Piazza Navona the castle is about fifteen minutes away across Ponte Sant'Angelo.

Take Line A. For Saint Peter's Basilica, exit at Ottaviano-S. Pietro and walk roughly 10 minutes down Via Ottaviano to St. Peter's Square. For the castle, Lepanto and Ottaviano are the two closest stations, a ten to fifteen minute walk toward the river along Via Cola di Rienzo or Via Crescenzio. No metro line stops at the castle itself.

For Saint Peter's Basilica, the 40 Express from Termini Station is the fastest option (approx. 25 mins), with the 64 as a popular alternative; get off at Traspontina/Conciliazione, a 5-minute walk from the Basilica. Lines 23, 34, 40, 62, 280 and 982 stop near Piazza Pia or by Ponte Vittorio Emanuele II, both a few minutes from the castle entrance. Routes around Piazza Pia are occasionally diverted for works, so check the stop on the day.

For Saint Peter's Basilica, take Line 19 to its terminus at Piazza del Risorgimento, then walk 6 to 7 minutes to the Vatican walls and entrance.

For Saint Peter's Basilica, ask for drop-off at Piazza del Risorgimento or Via della Conciliazione, as taxis cannot enter St. Peter's Square directly. For the castle, ask for Lungotevere Castello or Piazza Adriana, right beside the entrance. Saint Peter's Basilica enforces a strict dress code (shoulders and knees must be covered) and mandatory security screening, even with a reserved ticket.

The castle ticket includes the panoramic terrace at the top, with views over the Tiber, the historic center and St. Peter's. The Saint Peter's Basilica dome climb is not part of this bundle.
