The Colosseum has its own stop, Colosseo, on metro Line B. The Mamertine Prison is about a 5-minute walk from that station, beside the Roman Forum.

Buses 51, 75, 81, 85, 87 and 118 stop near the Colosseum, and lines 51, 75, 85 and 87 also serve the Roman Forum area by the Mamertine Prison.

Tram line 3 stops at Piazza del Colosseo, a few minutes' walk from the Colosseum entrance and the Mamertine Prison.

The Mamertine Prison and the Colosseum are about 15 minutes apart on foot, past the Imperial Forums.

Go first to the Mamertine Prison voucher office (Clivo Argentario 1), at least 1 hour before your Colosseum time slot, and redeem your voucher there. The time you choose at booking refers to the Colosseum entry, so after redeeming, walk to the Colosseum (about 15 minutes) and be at the entrance 15 minutes before your slot. Bring a valid ID, as all visitors must show it to enter.

No. The Colosseum entry covers the standard visit together with the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill, but not the Underground and Arena areas.

Allow at least 3 to 4 hours: around 30 minutes at the Mamertine Prison, then 2 to 3 hours for the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill, depending on your pace.
